The Society’s Historical Collections – Sydney Football Records

BookSydney Football Records

The Society is moving through the process of posting copies of the competition’s football records from 1927, the first year they were introduced.  Initially the publication was known as Australian Football News and cost twopence (2 cents).  Club notes were encouraged and a description of the game in Sydney was printed each week.

The name of the publication has changed over the years but mostly settled on the name: Football Record, after the VFL magazine.

We do not have copies of all the Football Records published.  If you have one or know someone who does, please encourage them to send them to us for scanning and return.

Because so many will be posted on this site, we have divided your access to it into decades:

1920s Sydney Football Records

1930s Sydney Football Records

1940s Sydney Football Records

1950s Sydney Football Records

1960s Sydney Football Records

1970s Sydney Football Records

1980s Sydney Football Records

1990s Sydney Football Records

2000s Sydney Football Records

2010s Sydney Football Records

Click for the decade you wish to read.  Please bear in mind that at this stage there is a minority of copies posted, however more are being added weekly.
