1995 NSWAFL Teale Cup (U17) State Team

Selection of the 1995 New South Wales Teale Cup Squad followed the .same format which has been in operation since 1993. Adopting the on-going process through the. Development Squads, the "Blues Squad" preparatltion incorporated a game against the ACT Under 18 side, participation at Ballarat in the 'Pura Milk Series' (VCFL Teal Cup selection program), concluding with a three-day camp during the Queen's Birthday weekend (June 9-12) at Kapooka Army Base at Wagga Wagga. It was in Wagga where the selectors of Damian Drum (Coach), Andrew Richardson (Assistant Coach), Rod Carter (Selector) and Tony Turner (Selector) announced the following squad to
represent NSW in the 1995 Commonwealth Bank (Teale) Cup Under 17 National Championships, scheduled from July 8 to 16 across the Riverina area-

lnjuries to Rodney Frost (broken arm) and Tony Marshall (knee) led to the inclusion of Chris Jackson and Glen
Cumming, the week prior to the Championship.

Due to a virus infection, Team Captain Travis Rankin was
unable to take part in the last two matches. This promoted
Ben Mathews to Captain and Leigh Marshall to vice-capt.

UMPIRES: Grant Godfrey and Anton Lewis were appointed to officiate at the Carnival.

Conduct of the team, was of the usual high standard which we have come to expect. From a NSW team point-of-view, organisation of the Carnival was excellent. Due to weather conditions, only one change of venue was required when the Division One finals were transferred to the North Albury FC venue at Bunton Park.
