KILLARNEY VALE AUST FOOTBALL CLUB – NSW Australian Football History Society Inc

The club was formed in November 1977 with its first season in the Central Coast Football League in 1978.

It now competes in the Black Diamond AFL where it is a strong competitor with lots of depth.

1973 NSW Police Team

This is an image of the NSW Police Australian Football Team taken on the day of the victory in the grand final of the mid-week services competition in Sydney.

The team was captained by Ellis Noack, who is seated in the centre of the front row. The coach was Brian Andrews, a former South Sydney and St George player, who is in the rear row, third from the right.

Andrews, who was the sergeant in charge of the drill team at the police academy at the time, served it out to the (officer) coach of the Navy team in the mid-week grand after he made accusations of duplicitous action by the coppers during the grand final In a booming voice across Erskineville Oval, Andrews yelled "What do you think we are, a bunch of f****** cheats." The Police team won the game.

The team is a mixture of police, police cadets and special constables. The president of the club was Neil Stevens who was stationed at 21 Division who is dressed in the suit fourth from the right. He was one of the first players to sign on with the Police team in 1956.

The team defeated a strong Navy team on the day at Erskineville Oval, to eclipse the flag.
